Throughout the week we meet in smaller, more intimate groups where we can become more aware of each other's needs. In the “home groups” and in our “specialty groups” we can get to know each other and support each other in ways that aren't possible in the format of a Sunday morning service. Home Groups
Home groups, also called cell groups or house churches, provide an atmosphere for personal contact, ministry, and pastoral care. The weekly meetings usually include fellowship, worship, prayer and study of God's Word, with the goal of helping prepare you to walk in God's callings. Below is information on five home groups currently being offered by Cornerstone Community Church .
The Dolsey Home Group focuses on discipleship, the making of disciples, becoming a disciple maker, and Book by Book study. All are welcome. Childcare is provided. Contact the church office at 434-847-4796 for location information and times.
The goal of the Bedford Home Group is to provide a loving, caring environment where families can feel at home and receive solid biblical teaching and good fellowship. Pastor & Minerva Taylor’s Home Group is focused on providing a loving and trusting atmosphere where people (young and old, men and women, married or single) can grow spiritually and develop into disciple-makers and small group leaders. Fellowship and relationship building is a big part of this home group and we encourage people to bring their entire family.
LAFF (Life After Forty-Five) is a home group that specializes in the joys of being an older adult. We welcome all ages and focus on encouraging one another in that God has great plans for all His children no matter what their age, marital status, or personal background, through the study of scripture, prayer for each other, and personal ministry. The Amherst Home Group is committed to reaching and teaching disciples, building "Christ centered" relationships with those around us (family members, marriage partners, co-workers, etc.), offering an atmosphere of praise, worship, and encouragement, and striving for humility as we, as a group, seek God's will for our lives.
Specialty Groups
In His Steps Dance Ministry/Classes uses the art form of dance in service to and for God. Since art is a reflection of life and a profound means of communication, this ministry focuses communication through movement as its medium. Our purpose is to praise and worship the Lord Jesus Christ, encourage fellow believers, and present the Gospel in a non-conventional way. Please call the church office at 434-847-4796 if you are interested in being a part of In His Steps. Classes are offered for ages three to adult, for men and women, boys and girls. Classes are held each Monday evening at Cornerstone Community Church in the dance studio.
Art Classes are offered at Cornerstone Community Church for adults who love to use the art form of painting as worship to God. Classes are held once a week on Tuesday morning at the home of our gifted art instructor who is a member at Cornerstone Community Church.
