Willie Taylor was ordained as Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Community Church in September 1997. He ministers with boldness and simplicity, applying God’s timeless spiritual principles to our everyday lives in a practical manner. His message of God’s grace has inspired hope within the body of Christ, transcending racial, cultural, generational, and denominational barriers. Pastor Willie's heart is for God’s people to understand that through God’s grace (God’s ability beyond our natural ability), the obedience to the written word of God and through obedience to the Holy Spirit we can enjoy a life of success, which he defines as fulfilling the purposes for which we were created.

Pastor Willie is a living testimony of the God-given grace that he now preaches. Since giving his life to the Lord at Cornerstone over 24 years ago, he has served as the Youth Leader, as a Life Group Leader, and as one of the first two elders ordained at Cornerstone. Upon receiving the call to pastor, this former high school basketball coach and teacher made a natural switch to “coaching” a new team (the congregation) according to a new rule book (the Word of God) in a new playing field (real life). And with God as the owner and general manager, Pastor Willie enjoys coaching a team that never loses!

Realizing that the strength of a local church is a reflection of the strength of its leadership, Pastor Willie has a passion for developing leaders. Through one on one mentoring and biblical counseling, he has helped to expand the leadership ability of numerous individuals in their personal areas of influence. Through group mentoring, he established and cultivates a developmental program for Elders in Training: a ministry leadership team that aids in Cornerstone’s strategic planning efforts.

Pastor Willie and his lovely wife, Minerva, have been happily married since 1970. They have raised three godly daughters—Ivy, Camie, and Brandy—whose service has greatly blessed Cornerstone for many years.
