The other day, I was at a convenience store buying gas and I thought about how high the price of gas is getting. When I went inside to pay, they were very busy and I chickened out. But when I stepped outside, I noticed two employees taking a smoke break. I handed one of them a card with some money in it and asked her to put that money down for the next person who came in to pay for gas and hand the card to them. Also, I gave her a dollar for helping me out.
I couldn’t wait to get home to tell my wife about it. I found out that my wife was doing the same thing at the same time in another part of town.

We went on our regular date for coffee and asked the man at the counter to charge us for 3 more coffees and give them to the next three people along with the cards. It was cool just to be able to show love to complete strangers.

I have been trying to find a way to give out cards and so I prayed God would reveal a way to touch someone in financial need. God put a burden on my heart to buy 3 $20 gift cards from Kroger and pray over the phone book and mail a card to three people. I know God is sending the cards to someone in need for food and God. I trust that the Lord will bring these people to Cornerstone so the church can touch these people as much as it has touched me. God is so amazing and Pastor Taylor and Cornerstone has helped me find God in a deeper way. Through this deeper realization, God has broken several bonds of fear over my life and has opened up many spiritual gifts. I feel the cards are amazing and I am so glad God shows his love through our church.

Once again, it was fun paying for someone’s meal and leaving a card.

A man came to my home and asked if he could purchase my tiller. I took his telephone number. I called him and told him to come and get the tiller. When he came, I gave the tiller to him with one of the Revolutionary Love cards. The only “pay” I asked of him was that he would give help to someone else.

So, I decided it was time to act and trust God to lead.
I was led to buy $5 cards which could be used for coffee, food, or gas — who wouldn’t like that, right? This “revolutionary love” may be catching, because at the first Sheetz visited there were no gift cards available to purchase, so I had to go to a second one. I prepared several packets by inserting gift cards inside the “revolutionary love” cards, then looked forward to landing a ’surprise blessing’ on someone. As I stopped to recycle in an area that had a Goodwill nearby a Sheetz, I felt the time was right. I left one on a car windshield of a Goodwill shopper. As a fellow bargain shopper there, I felt the gift may meet a true need, and actually felt the adrenaline from the whole process. It felt great and very rewarding! I also left a packet in one of the machines that distributed a free job market paper. I thought what a nice surprise it would be if someone was actually out of work. Even if they didn’t have a car – the Sheetz was just across the road. Then the other night I was walking into Wal-Mart and having a third card and gift card in my pocket, had the urging to place it on a specific vehicle’s windshield.
What I’m looking forward to is logging on here soon and seeing comments by someone who has been blessed by receiving revolutionary love. I know its a terrible analogy, but its like someone who plays the lottery. They keep trying, because they never know which ticket will be the winner and change their life. We should keep trying as we hear from God, because we never know which card will land in the right person’s hands at just the right time to totally change their life … and we may never even learn about it this side of heaven. Go team!!
“This love will never leave you
This love will never let you go
It is time for a love revolution
It is time for a new constitution”

I work in the after school program in the afternoons. Before I left for the day, I wanted to do a little something to bless someone else. So, with some extra change in my pocket, I had planned to buy as many items out of the machines as I could and leave them there with a Revolutionary Love card. I tried to pick the healthiest snack and drink I could, because I didn’t want to leave a card with a very sugary and fatty snack and drink :). I bought some Sun Chips and a bottled water and left it with a card for the next person coming up to get something. I thought I would let them save their own money. I know it feels good to me when I think I am about to spend my money on something, and I find that someone has already paid for me. Today, as I finished out work, I left a snack and a card in another vending machine (I tried to find another healthy one :). I pray that God truly ministers to the people who receive them in the way He sees they need it, whether it be salvation, or just a reminder of His Revolutionary Love. I know these don’t sound like HUGE things so far, but I wanted to do SOMETHING to bless someone and let it be a small example of how Jesus showed His Love for us on the cross. I figured that doing SOMETHING was better than doing NOTHING. I am still praying for God to speak to me about how to bless more people with remaining cards I have still. It really felt good to leave the message of the Gospel WITH A GIFT for someone to receive and be blessed.

I went to Kroger to shop for my groceries and while there I thought I’d get extra money off my debit card. I put the money in two cards and asked the cashier if she could give them to the next two “senior” customers that came through her line. (Tuesday is “senior” day at Kroger!) She backed up from me and said they were not allowed to do that. I was discouraged but determined to find out from God what He wanted me to do then. I prayed about it all that day and in the middle of the night I felt I knew what to do. Today I purchased two Easter Lilies, pinned the cards to them and took them to the housing for the elderly that is located on my street. I prayed over the plants and left them on the stoops of two doors there. My daughter cheered as I returned to my vehicle. It felt good even though I may never see those people. The sun even seemed to shine a little brighter!

Last week brought many challenges. By Thursday was emotionally and physically exhausted. After running late errands, I stopped at Sonic to get a meal. Because I am in a working environment that promotes customer service, I am always looking for outstanding service at other places. The lady who took my order at Sonic was patient and polite while I was making a decision on what to purchase. When I got to the window, I changed my order and she accepted it with a smile. I was prompted in my spirit to bless her with a card and a tip. She was speechless as I pulled away with a smile on my face. The challenges of the week seemed to melt away. On Tuesday of this week I was looking for another opportunity to share God’s love. I thought maybe I would stop at a gas station, but I drove by several without stopping. I had to go to the grocery store so I prayed that if there was someone in the store I could bless, the Holy Spirit would prompt me. I ended up shopping for more than just what I needed :)! A man and his daughter were standing in line to purchase only a gallon of milk. They were playful and seemed to enjoy just being together. I handed him a card with $5 and blessed him. He in turn blessed me! Again, my heart was lifted!

Like others, I too have been praying about how best to distribute the cards and be a blessing to someone else. Earlier in the week while I was praying about it, God told me to leave a bag of quarters along with the card in the laundry mat next to the store I was going in. When I actually got around to doing it, I saw a gentleman in the laundry mat who looked a bit ‘rough around the edges.’ I immediately turned around and walked out because I just knew that he would take the money and waste it and not use it for its purpose. Instantly I was convicted by the Holy Spirit, for I knew that my Lord would never be so selective about whom to bless and share the gospel with. So I went back in, gave him a smile and laid the bag of quarters and the card on the table.
I too felt good to give, but more importantly, I was excited at the thought that someone else would be blessed and might come to now the Lord. I prayed over the card and the money because I wanted them to fall in good hands, to be a seed that will bring forth much fruit and harvest for the kingdom. I wanted for someone who doesn’t know the Lord to come to know him, it’s all about increasing God’s kingdom and sharing the greatest gift we’ve ever been given.

I was able to show God’s love twice this week. When it was raining Friday, I purchased an umbrella and gave it to a young lady that was walking in the rain. To say the least, she was very appreciative.
I was also able to pay for someone’s meal in the drive-thru
I have challenged myself to do this at least 5 each week. It is a great feeling to be thinking about how you can bless others, rather than thinking about your laundry list of things you have to get done for the day. I must admit, it made may day much more enjoyable to be thinking about others and not just myself.
I’m very competitive, so is anyone up for the challenge to do more than five?
BRING IT ON!

Hi All!
I had been struggling all week, trying to find a way to give someone a card without spending much, if any money, since things are so tight for us right now. We were planning to go see Shadowlands at LU, so David picked up 2 extra tickets, even though we didn’t know who to give them to. It seemed everyone we invited had other plans. David found a couple of college students on Friday (the same day as the play) that were interested, so we gave them the tickets. We had a good time visiting with and getting to know them, as well as watching the play, and they told us how much they appreciated being invited.
I also decided that I would bake bread today and give it to people in our apartment complex. I did get it baked today, and will be wrapping it here shortly. I think we will set it outside doors in the morning, so it is not out very long, and hopefully will be found quickly.
It has been interesting to note how much we share love regularly and don’t think about it. I also have noticed how difficult it is to truly demonstrate love to people we don’t know. There is that whole pride thing with not wanting to look silly or be embarrassed by giving someone a card when you hold the door, or offer to help carry their groceries to their car, or even let them in front of you in the grocery store.
I do look forward to hearing more experiences. Be blessed!!!

I thought I could spare the $20 extra bucks, so I went to Subway where I normally eat, and I asked one of the workers to pay for three people and to give them the card. I talked to him a couple of days later, and he said that the one lady he had given it to said that was her last five bucks (he only served one lady, because then he left the shift).
I agree this was an awesome experience. I hope we do this lots more. It’s so worth it. I’m going to have to think of ways to not spend too much money on this, but even the money I spent already and hopefully will in the future was worth it.

I’m still waiting to hear how to use my cards, though God has been planting some ideas. Love the idea, much like paying it forward!
Recently, we lost a great pioneer in the Christian music world in Larry Norman who passed away 2/24, so I’ve been going to his website a lot. Below, I share part of his Christmas 2007 (just 3 months ago) message where he echoes what Pastor Willie said Sunday about dying to ourselves.
“Have you noticed that apparently I can walk up to anyone on the street and witness to them? Why don’t people walk away from me? Because the Holy Spirit holds them there. They are unable to escape the beauty of Christ. Why is that? Is it because of a certain combination of words I say to them? Certainly not. Or is it because I have an engaging personality or an overpowering will. Nope. That’s not it. Well, then what is it? Okay, I’ll tell you. The most effective part of witnessing is that I only talk to those people who God pushes me toward. Their ground has been prepared to receive the seed of truth. When I first started trying to tell people about Jesus I was clumsy and they didn’t want to hear what I was trying to say. They thought I was a pathetic loser. But I cared more about what they thought about Jesus than what they thought about me. Maybe I was a loser, in their eyes. But in my eyes, Jesus Christ was no loser, but a victor. And He was so important that people needed to discover THAT aspect and meet Him.”
Larry would only approach those whom the Holy Spirit led him to and I think that’s a very important part of the spiritual success of our revolutionary love. Who has God already been dealing with? I look forward to sharing later how He led me. If you’d like to read more of Larry’s heart, visit http://www.larrynorman.com/see.html.

Hi everyone I was able to minister to a lady and share the gospel with her. Also I gave her a card as well. I enjoy sharing the love of God with people. Be ready–there is more sharing I will be doing.

I was paying for my meal in a drive-thru, and heard the total for the person behind me. I was reminded that paying for their meal was one of the many ways I could show revolutionary love. I told the drive-thru worker that I would also pay for the person behind me, so I gave the worker a card to give to the next person in line. I’d had a pretty long day, but this experience gave me energy, and I felt invigorated the rest of the day! What a fun experience!

Hi, everyone. It was exciting paying for someone’s meal and leaving the card. This was fun — I would like to see the face of the one whose meal I paid on.
