The purpose of Life Groups is to help you connect with others and to grow spiritually. Life Groups are small groups of 6-15 people who meet during the week for Bible study, prayer, fellowship, snacks, and encouragement. The concept of Life Groups as an integral part of church life comes from Acts 5:42 (“And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.”) As a “small church” within the larger church, a Life Group enables us get to know each other and support each other in ways that aren't possible in the format of a Sunday morning service.
All Life Groups cover the same teaching material, which includes a wide range of real life topics using videos, books, and pastoral message notes. The discussion format and ability to share questions and answers allow us to explore subjects in greater depth than during the worship service.
Life Groups meet either weekly or biweekly, and all groups break for the summer. Some Life Groups meet in homes, while others meet on campus. The meetings run for about 90 minutes in a casual atmosphere. You can join a group at any time during the year and you do not have to be a church member to join. Whether you choose a group based on meeting time, location, life stage (married, single, seniors, etc.), or any other factor, there’s a group that’s the right fit for you.
Childcare arrangements vary within each home-based Life Group. For on-campus Life Groups that meet before the worship service, childcare is provided through the Children’s ministry.
We encourage everyone attending Cornerstone to join a Life Group. If you have any questions about joining a Life Group please contact the church office. Our life groups and their meeting time is listed below!
